Stockholm's best ramen

Ai Ramen
Ai Ramen is very popular – and rightly so. Ai Ramen has two different branches, so check which one is closer to you – either in Södermalm or close to T-Centralen metro station. The atmosphere and ramen are equally good at both. It can be worth remembering that ramen is a popular lunch choice in Stockholm – so it can be hard to get a table during the lunch hour rush.

MisshuMasshu
MisshuMasshu is the latest venture by Adam Dahlberg & Albin Wessman. They also run Raamen in Skanstull and fine dining restaurant Adam/Albin. MisshuMasshu is close to Stureplan, so it can be a good stopping point during a shopping trip or before an evening out on the town. Between MisshuMasshu and its location in the tiny Jarlspassagen mall, you’ll enjoy a delightful mix of the modern and historic sides of Stockholm.

Ramen Ki-mama
Ramen Ki-mama claims to be the first and best ramen restaurant in Stockholm. Well, it's certainly been here a while – since 2005 – and they do serve great ramen.Even though the restaurant is a bit out of the way, it's often packed and well worth a detour.

Rawbata is located at popular Rörstrandsgatan. Photo: Rawbata

Rawbata
Restaurant packed Rörstrandsgatan now also includes a good Ramen option. In 2018, Rawbata opened with its Japanese charcoal grill and since then the restaurant has been praised to the skies. Very largely thanks to its delicious ramen dishes that are available on both the lunch and evening menus. They don't take bookings at Rawbata so arrive early or late to be sure to get a table.

Raamen
Sister of MisshuMasshu that is also on our list. Raamen is run by Adam Dahlberg & Albin Wessman and is located inside the Theater in Ringen department store in Skanstull – where there is several restaurants in a food court there. Very good if there's a group of you who can't agree on what cuisine to go for.

"Spicy Miso" at Totemo Ramen.

Totemo Ramen
An old favorite among Stockholm's ramen restaurants – but still just as popular. It's very small and you may have to wait in line, so try to avoid rush hour around lunch time. The menu is relatively short but the ingredients are carefully selected and organic wherever possible. Did we also say they make their ramen noodles by hand?

Take Ramen
A new and authentic place that serves really good, classic Tonkotsu ramen. Before opening, Take Ramen engaged in solid research in Hong Kong and Kyoto to find the perfect broth. The favorite on the menu is Tonkotsu ramen – a stock that is full of depth and flavor without being too fatty, perfectly al dente noodles, good chashu (pork) that isn’t flabby plus well-balanced toppings. The best seats are at the inviting bar where you can watch the chefs at work.

Café Stiernan
Café Stiernan is close to the busiest parts of Gamla stan. It's a small and cozy place but the ramen portions are generous and tasty. You can also sit outside in spring and summer. If you manage to find a table outside, it's a perfect place for people watching.
